Overlooking one of the largest village greens in the country, with grazing cattle and local cricket matches, this pub somewhat disappointed us. We expected an olde worlde feel to the place with pictures and curios, what we encountered was completely the opposite.We felt this was more like a ‘Little Chef’ than a village hostelry. It claims to date from a bygone era but shows little to substantiate this. That said, we found the staff pleasant, the beer good and the prices reasonable.
