Situated off the main road near to the church, this pub is often overlooked, which is a great pity, we really like the character of this place. It’s quiet and clean with good service
and pleasant bar staff, serves meals in a quaint olde worlde lounge bar. Beer is excellent, served cold and at around £1.80 per pint for Tetley Smooth is pretty good value, they also have Mild on tap, very rare!
It has an outside lawn area for the summer (watch the kids though - the railway runs at the rear with only a small fence separating them from the line). Generally a very nice pub, we give this one the thumbs
up.
