How do we point score pubs?

Generally we look at the overall points of the pub, the decor, the quality of the beer, the attitude of the bar staff, the welcome from the regulars and staff, pricing etc and point score against these to give us an average mark which express as marks out of 10.

Are we connected to any brewery or pub chain?

No, definitely not. We are just Joe Public giving our views and impressions as we see them, hence Independent Tavern Reviews.

Would we give a better review to a pub to help it’s trade?

No, the whole point of this website is to tell it like it is. The first impression of a visitor and potential customer from a visitor and potential customer point of view. Hopefully, this will give an insight to where improvement might be suggested and which aspects are, in our opinion, just right.
